The Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross provides a variety of Health & Safety, Disaster Response, and International Humanitarian Law classes to the Big Bend Area. Read below to learn more about our classes!

You and your organization could help out in time of a disaster by taking American Red Cross Disaster Services courses. These courses are aimed at beginning volunteers who want to provide basic relief services. Read more about our Disaster Courses by clicking here. All Disaster Services training is free of charge and is open to the general public. You can register by calling the Disaster Services at (850) 878-6080 x5616, or by faxing your name, phone number and course selection to (850) 878-3441
Volunteer Orientation (Brand New Training!)
Our Chapter is proud to offer a one hour volunteer orientation for all volunteers. Like the Disaster and Emergency Services classes, the Volunteer Orientation is free of charge. Please check the link above for our class schedule or call (850)878-6080.
In addition, to a Volunteer Orientation, the Capital Area Chapter also provides tours of the facility upon request or during our once a month Get To Know Us Tours held every third Wednesday of the month. Reservations are required, please call (850) 878-6080.
Our classes are provided to prepare people to save lives through health and safety education and training. Today’s innovative programs also include teaching lay persons and professionals how to use automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to save victims of sudden cardiac arrest. Last year, nearly 11 million people enrolled in American Red Cross health and safety courses. For more information, click here.
