The Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross is not a government agency and all American Red Cross disaster assistance is free thanks to the generosity of people like you. Ninety-one cents of every dollar spent by the American Red Cross goes directly to programs and services that help people in need. What's more, the value of your financial donation is increased by the fact that the ratio of volunteer American Red Cross workers to paid
staff is 743 to 1. Contributions to the American Red Cross, a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal
Revenue Code, are deductible for computing income and estate taxes.
